Kensington Palace confirmed Catherine, princess of waleswill attend Trooping the Color on Saturday, which will be her first public engagement since her cancer diagnosis.
Kate announced in March that she was undergoing chemotherapy after an unspecified form of cancer was discovered during major abdominal surgery in January.
At the time, her office and William’s office said she would not return to public duties until her doctors said she was well enough to do so.

In a statement on Friday night, Kate said she was “looking forward” to attending the parade with her family and hoped to join in further public engagements over the summer, but knew she was “not out of the woods yet”.
The announcement is an important milestone, but it does not mark Kate’s return to full-time public duties.
The 42-year-old said her treatment is “ongoing” and is expected to continue for “a few more months”.
“I’m making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days,” she said.
“On those bad days, you feel weak, tired, and you need to let your body rest. But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling good.
“On the days when I feel well enough, it’s a pleasure to deal with school life, make personal time for the things that give me energy and positivity, and start doing a little work from home.
“I’m learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. I take each day as it comes, listen to my body and allow myself to take this much needed time to heal.
“Thank you very much for your continued understanding.”
She said messages of support in recent months have helped her and William “through some of the more difficult times”.
Trooping the Colour, also known as the King’s Birthday Parade, is an annual military parade held every June to mark the monarch’s official birthday in a tradition that dates back more than 260 years.
King Charles III, who is also being treated for an undisclosed form of cancer, is due to watch the ceremony where troops in full uniform march past the king with their ceremonial flag or ‘colour’.
Kate is expected to travel in a horse-drawn carriage from Buckingham Palace with the couple’s children – Prince George, 10; Princess Charlotte, 9; and Prince Louis, who is 6, before watching the ceremony from a building next to the parade ground.
She may also join other royals for the traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Kate wrote to the Irish Guards last week to apologize for not being able to take the salute for The Colonel’s Review in London – held seven days before the Trooping the Color parade.
In the letter, Kate, who is the regiment’s honorary colonel, said her position “remains an honour” and “I wanted to write to tell you how proud I am of the whole regiment”.
Charles, 75, revealed his cancer in February and recently returned to public duties. He attended commemorations this week to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the June 6, 1944, invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe.
He is likely to travel to Saturday’s event in a carriage with Queen Camilla and is expected to watch the ceremony sitting on a podium rather than on horseback, as he did last year.
