A motorcyclist was stabbed in the back during an alleged brawl on the road in inner Adelaide last night.
Emergency services were called to Main North Road at Gepps Cross in Blair Athol at around 9pm after witnesses reported a “fierce altercation” at the traffic lights between two occupants of a black VW Golf and the driver of a black Suzuki motorcycle.
Police and paramedics arrived to find the rider of the motorbike, a 21-year-old man from Puraka, with a stab wound to his lower back.
He was taken to hospital for non-life threatening treatment.
The two occupants of the VW Golf fled the scene and the car was last seen traveling north on Port Wakefield Road.
Police then spoke to the registered owner of the VW and seized the vehicle for forensic examination.
The investigation continues.
The police described the fight as a road accident.
