Spears addressed the injury Monday night.
She said she injured her ankle at the hotel before being photographed leaving the building crying in her pyjamas.
“Actually something nasty happened to my leg and I may need surgery…fingers crossed I hope not but I feel like I was bullied and gassed and tricked into going out on the street when my car needed to be there,” the singer wrote Instagram.
“I was in my pajamas and, yes, I was crying because I hurt my leg.
“No damage!
“I am a mature woman who is actually very naive in most situations.
“I’m just embarrassed that (the paparazzi) caught me in my damn pajamas.
“I don’t feel loved… I feel abused! With that said, I’m going to treat myself this week.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“No one can deny she had an injury after seeing that swelling,” said one X user.
“Looks broken, not sprained,” wrote a second.
“Poor Britney, that swelling really looks awful,” added a third.
The caption was shared along with a video of her riding a horse.
Spears previously said reports of a mental health breakdown at the hotel were “false”.
“Just so people know… the news is fake!!! I would like respect at this point for people to understand that I am getting stronger every day… the truth sucks so can someone teach me how to lie?” she said Instagram on Friday morning.
“I also sprained my ankle last night and the paramedics turned up at my door illegally. They never entered my room, but I felt completely harassed. I’m moving to Boston. Peace.”
Photos of the singer appeared wrapped in a blanket, wearing pajama shorts and clutching a pillow as she is escorted away by emergency services.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said: “Emergency services received a call at 12.42pm to reports of an injured elderly woman.
“At 1 am an ambulance arrived at the premises. I can confirm that no one was transported. The services left the scene at 1.17 am.
“The police department was not called.”
